Camping in the UK

Going camping is a popular holiday activity in the United Kingdom. Families are not adverse to packing up the car with some clothes, sleepings bags, basic cooking equipment, a double air bed and of course a tent and heading off into the great outdoors for a week under the canvas.

Farms are often turned into seasonal camping sites during the summer months allowing campers to pitch a tent for a few pounds a night and enjoy the basic facilities on offer which are often little more than a toilet block with an outside shower.

Other more sophisitcated camp sites can be found in areas more popular with tourists and have more generours facilites. Small onsite shop can be found selling toys, snacks and camping equipment one might need when they arrive such as tents pegs or even a double sleeping bag and double air bed. Such campsites may even have a bar and outdoor swimming pool.

Some camping equipment can double up as useful household items such as a double air bed which are great for when friends stop by allowing you to give them somewhere comfortable to sleep other than the sofa!

The sleeping bag suit is a relatively new item that is a sleeping bag with arms and legs to allow you to still have some mobility whilst keeping you snug and warm. They are ideal for wearing around the house when you are having a duvet day!
